Sodepur Suzalam Society
Established in 2012 on 15th August, Sodepur Suzalam Society is a non-political and non-profit organization (Registration No- S0024518) based in Sodepur, a suburban city in Kolkata started its journey with the intention to work towards the betterment of society by providing various support services to the people of unprivileged backward sections. Since its incorporation, we have been actively involved in a wide range of activities aimed at improving the lives of people from all walks of life.
Our main mission is to empower underprivileged and marginalized communities and help them lead fulfilling lives. We work towards achieving this goal by undertaking various programs and initiatives to achieve our objectives, including organizing cultural events to find out and encourage the talents around us, educational campaigns such as distributing stationery materials

Swaha
Swaha is a dedicated and cultural unit of Sodepur Suzalam Society that focuses on providing training to children, especially those who are underprivileged, physically challenged, and live in the vicinity of the railway slum area. The main aim of Swaha is to generate a sustainable income source that can be used to fund the activities of Suzalam Society. Through Swaha, children are provided with various forms of training, including singing and dancing to help them to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to improve their skills. It also provides a platform for the children to showcase their talents and creativity.

I, Liza Guha, started my journey exactly ten years ago, in 2012, with some great intentions and along the way, I have met several like-minded individuals who are still with me today. In fact, in these ten years, more than thirty women have joined me on this journey. A decade ago, we named our organization “Suzalam Swecchasebi Sangstha.” Over the past ten years, our organization has truly flourished. Today, this organization is not just a women’s organization but has united several kind-hearted individuals and has been registered as ‘Sodepur Suzalam Society.’ However, we feel comfortable calling it a voluntary organization. In these ten years, we have had countless well-wishers and friends by our side. We have had some guardians and guides by our side with the grace of God, without which it would not have been possible. We have worked so hard in various regions of Sodepur and West Bengal over the past ten years that we can proudly say that we have accomplished more than many other large organizations which has been possible only with the help of angels like you and the members of Suzalam.
I know that in the coming days, I will find many more friends walking along with me. It’s impossible to name everyone in this short text, so on behalf of Sujalam, I express my gratitude, heartfelt love, and best wishes for the future. May God bless everyone.
